Basement

A dimly lit, cluttered basement with exposed stone walls and old pipes.

A dimly lit basement with exposed wooden beams and stone walls.

Here is the answer. 2-foot-thick walls 6 feet tall filled with re-bar all around the perimeter.

Two main rooms with two small rooms off mains.

Historians tell us this was the cooking room originally - small room off right was the pantry and the cooking fireplace now closed off behind water heaters. Winter kitchen?
